Does a company receive e-invoices?

Enter an IČO, DIČ or VAT ID (IČ DPH) and find out whether the company is ready on the Peppol network to receive e-invoices.

An IČO has 8 digits, a DIČ 10 digits, a VAT ID starts with SK. Spaces are fine.

How the check works

From 1 January 2027 domestic e-invoices in Slovakia are delivered over the Peppol network. Every company that receives them is registered there with its delivery provider, called a digital postman. The check asks the network’s directory whether the company you entered is registered.

Slovak companies and sole traders have a network address in the form 0245:DIČ. If you enter a VAT ID, we use the DIČ inside it. If you enter an IČO, we look the DIČ up in the public register of financial statements.

What to do before 1 January 2027

  1. Find out what applies to you. A VAT payer will issue domestic invoices to other businesses as e-invoices and will also receive them. A business that is not a VAT payer does not have to issue them, but must be able to receive an e-invoice from a VAT payer.
  2. Choose a digital postman. You choose your delivery provider in the Finančná správa application at vpds.financnasprava.sk. The choice is an expression of interest; you then sign a contract with the provider, and it registers you on the network.
  3. Get your invoicing software ready. E-invoices travel in UBL 2.1 under the EN 16931 standard. Ask the vendor of your software from when it will support that.
  4. Check your customers and suppliers. Use this tool to see who is already on the network and whom to remind.

Frequently asked questions

What should I enter, the IČO or the DIČ?

Any one of the three: IČO, DIČ or VAT ID. The DIČ or VAT ID is the surest, because the company is registered on the network by its DIČ. For an IČO we look the DIČ up in the public register of financial statements, and sole traders are often not in it.

The company is not on the network. Does it have to fix that before 2027?

If from 1 January 2027 it gets invoices from VAT payers in Slovakia, yes: even a business that is not a VAT payer must be able to receive an e-invoice. It is registered on the network by the provider it chooses on the Finančná správa portal.

I am not a VAT payer. Does this apply to me?

Yes, but only for receiving. From 1 January 2027 you must be able to receive an e-invoice from a supplier who is a VAT payer. You do not have to issue e-invoices.

Do you keep a record of whom I checked?

No. The number you enter is used for one check only; we do not store it or write it to any log. We only count how many checks ran each hour.
